I’ve nearly run over this group twice now. I had to stop yesterday to shoo them out from in front of my truck. Very cute and friendly.

Shoot them? I would say your aim is poor. Oh, and you should know it’s illegal to shoot them from your truck.

They look like small little fellas? Pigmy goats maybe?

Someone should give the spca a heads up so they get on the owners about keeping them contained. It would be a shame if those cute little guys got smoked by a passing vehicle.

T hey basically do. Goats (and sheep, and cattle to a lesser degree) have enhanced visual acuity along the horizontal strip of their pupils with reduced up/down peripheral acuity in the name of wider horizontal vision. Their corneas and retinas are both optimized for wide horizontal vision so that they can see nearly 360 degrees around them to the horizon.
T heir eyes also ROTATE on their axis in the eye socket, allowing them to maintain horizontal vision to the horizon even when their heads are down in grazing position. If you pay attention to goats and sheep who look at you, you’ll see that they swivel their eyes so that the pupil slits are in line with the subject of interest in order to maximize the acuity of the vision and to allow proper stereo scopic overlap on the subject.
